Photography studio, gallery and training complex

Catching Up…

Forgive me, reader. It has been weeks since my last post and all I can say in my defence is that it has been a busy and very varied time. Not least, we have been working towards moving into our new studio. I went along to the new premises to take some photographs for the architects who will be transforming it from long-empty and fairly run-down 3 storey unit in Birmingham city centre into the exciting hub for Midlands photography that we know it will become.

Until now, I haven’t been able to say very much about the space and I’m still not going to tell you everything, but Fotofilia will be occupying the basement of this huge unit. The rest of the unit will contain… well, you’ll just have to wait and see. For now, here’s a couple of images of the basement as it is now…

I’ll share more details in the fullness of time but it looks likely that we’ll be moving in early in 2014. And yes, we’ll be hanging onto the Regent Parade premises too (I’ll have some news about that very soon).

Looking good David, think you should organise a fashion type shoot there before it becomes too posh!

Sounds like lots going on!….dying to know where you’re going to be!

If you are up for a road trip tomorrow and want to pop over with Eve for a drink and a listen to the music it would be great to see you any time between 4-9pm. Those doing the same, who obviously don’t trust my cooking (i.e. who aren’t having dinner) have said they will have a strip of raffle tickets for my causes and a glass of wine or a pint of Mad Goose or an orange juice! I know it was a short notice event….even I’ve surprised myself that I’ve organised an event in 5 days! (better not speak too soon, it’s not Sunday 4pm yet!) Well at least so far I have raffle prizes, meat, beer, wine, plates, cutlery, glasses, cupcakes, nibbles, coffee, serviettes and loo roll…oh yes, and a Christmas tree!….just need to do a bit of grocery shopping, cooking and finish tidying the house tomorrow! Simples!

P.S. Have got some fab raffle prizes include a Purity gift pack of 3 bottles of beer and a glass, chocolates and a Β£10 voucher for meat… could win your Christmas turkey!

Do hope you can pop over and get a bit of relaxation time, it should be a fun afternoon/evening, and would be nice to meet Eve.

Good to see Rann Enterprises, Inc is expanding. Great to see a bigger statement for photography in Brum, too. I wish you well. Tempted to blow the dust off m’lens caps!
